ADULTSSupport surfaces alone are not sufficient in preventing skin breakdown, especially on lower legs and heels. Turning and repositioning of patients is critical in providing proper skincare.
Based in White Plains, New York, Sundance Enterprises, Inc. is a leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of unique patient positioning products, patient care surfaces, and related medical devices.
Since our inception Sundance has followed the maxim that research, development and clinical collaboration is the foundation for improved patient care.
OUTCOMES & SOLUTIONS
Sundance’s fluidized technology is incorporated throughout our products and can be used to reposition patients safely, assisting the caregiver in the maintenance of a therapeutic turning schedule. Patients can be safely turned using our products. Our technology’s unique ability to contour and support increases patient comfort while a therapeutic turning and repositioning schedule is maintained. Increased patient comfort helps drive patient compliance. This improves caregiver safety as constant repositioning due to lack of compliance is reduced.
The fluidized technology “Zero Memory” & ‘Zero Flow” formulation are some of the unique characteristics behind Sundance’s innovative products. These characteristics enable it to respond three-dimensionally to the forces caused by patient movements and are designed to maximize both contouring and support, allowing the bony prominences to be effectively off-loaded while promoting neutral spinal and limb alignment.
Facilities that have incorporated Sundance’s technologies as a standard of care have seen a positive impact on hospital acquired pressure ulcers within the adult, pediatric and neonatal population. Anecdotal clinical reports of benefits to individual NICU infants have included improved comfort, sleep, calming, physiologic stability, weight gain, skin protection, and positional alignment. Reduction of pain medication, sedation, and supplemental oxygen has been documented for some infants.
Mother Gastroschisis Newborn
She is so much more comfortable now. She used to fidget, cry, and whine all the time. Now she sleeps, and she’s calm when she is awake so she just looks around. I look at that baby over there and see how fussy he is, and am just so glad our daughter is on this bed. They also were able to reduce her pain meds after she got it.
VA HospitalPatient Story
I was injured while serving in Iraq after my D-7 CAT ran over a land mine. While I was in the VA hospital I had surgery on my back and hip. I was given a Z3 so that I was able to lay on my side. Even with staples it was just what I needed. It made it so much easier for me to sleep.
